The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Seoul hosted a ceremonial event dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on November 6, 2024.
Foreign ambassadors accredited to Korea, representatives of Korea’s political, economic, scientific, cultural circles and mass media as well as of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Korea took part in the event.
H.E. Ramin Hasanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea, who opened the event with his welcoming remarks, spoke about the glorious victory achieved under the leadership of victorious Commander-in-Chief of Azerbaijani Army, President Ilham Aliyev, in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020.
He emphasized that this victory has a great meaning not only in view of the liberation of Azerbaijani territories occupied and destroyed by Armenia as well as the restoration of the rights of Azerbaijani IDPs.
The Ambassador also informed about the progress of peace negotiations, the practical results obtained on delimitation and demarcation of borders and other issues of Azerbaijan’s peace agenda. He pointed out that if Armenia takes sincere steps for peace with Azerbaijan, it is possible to achieve lasting peace in the region.
Ramin Hasanov also spoke about the rebuilding works in Garabagh and Eastern Zangezur regions, which were liberated from Armenian occupation, humanitarian demining issue, as well as other challenges and difficulties.
In addition, he noted his country’s activities towards strengthening regional cooperation, its active diplomacy in terms of global affairs including COP29 event which Azerbaijan will host very soon.
Following Ambassador’s speech, the guests were treated to dinner. Korean jazz masters (Guiter & Leader: Mr. Kim Seon Woo, Bass: Mr. Lee Shihwan, Vocal: Ms. Song Jimin, Drum: Mr. Lee Jeong Hyeon) performed pieces of world and Azerbaijani music.
