Following successful negotiations between Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev and Deputy Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of Korea Lee Yoon-sang in February in Sejong, as well as bilateral aviation consultations in March in Almaty, national flag carrier of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, is set to resume flights between the capitals of the two countries. The resumption of the Astana-Seoul route will begin on June 15, 2024.

The flights will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A321LR aircraft, each with a capacity of 166 seats. This service resumption aims to facilitate and boost trade, economic, business, and tourism cooperation between Kazakhstan and Korea.

The return of this direct connection between Astana and Seoul is expected to strengthen ties between Kazakhstan and Korea, providing more opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange.
