Jecheon City Mayor Kim Chang-kyu recently held a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Xing Haiming to explore ways to cooperate in attracting Chinese companies to invest in Jecheon.

The meeting was attended by Jecheon Mayor Kim Chang-kyu, Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming, Deputy Chief of Mission Fang Kun. They listened to the difficulties faced by Chinese companies in entering Korea and discussed continued cooperation for investment in Jecheon.

As the atmosphere for attracting foreign companies to Korea is currently heating up, with many global companies, including Chinese companies, seeking to enter the country, Jecheon City has expanded its communication channels with the Chinese Embassy in Korea and laid the groundwork to proactively respond to the rapidly changing domestic and foreign investment environment.

"As barriers in the U.S. and European markets are increasing, a strategic approach to attracting foreign investment is necessary," said Kim Chang-kyu, mayor of Jecheon City. "We will do our best to attract foreign companies by actively utilizing the advantages of Jecheon City's investment conditions."

Meanwhile, the city is building the 4th Industrial Complex with the goal of completing it in 2026, and is accelerating the pre-sale of the project, starting with an investment agreement for Iljin Global's 5th factory in February.

The city plans to continue to work with the diplomatic corps and foreign entrepreneurs to attract foreign companies to the 4th Industrial Complex.
