South Korean retail giant introduces CU Store Chain to Kazakhstan

Almaty, Kazakhstan welcomed the inauguration of its first CU store, a collaboration between Shin-Line Group and South Korea's BGF Retail on March 6, 2024. This historic occasion heralds the entry of South Korea's retailer into the Kazakhs market, promising to the Almaty’s retail landscape.

 

The CU store chain is poised to enhance the shopping experience for Almaty's populace. These stores boast appealing exteriors, unique interiors, swift service, and competitive pricing.

 

 

Andrey Shin, President of the Shin-Line Group, highlighted the transformative impact of the CU network on Almaty's retail landscape, emphasizing the importance of modern stores with innovative solutions in community development. 

 

During the opening ceremony held on March 6, it was emphasized that the operational standards, product assortment, and service format of CU stores in Kazakhstan mirror those of South Korea.

 

 

Mr. Hong, Vice President of BGF Retail, reiterated the company's commitment to its philosophy encapsulated in the acronym "Be Good Friends". He affirmed that the CU network continues to expand, meeting diverse customer needs and earning recognition as an industry leader.

 

Investors anticipate that this pioneering project will inject fresh dynamism into Kazakhstan's retail sector, foster healthy competition, elevate trade standards, and serve as a benchmark for the market at large. Overall, the joint project points to growing economic ties between Kazakhstan and Korea.
