SK Chairman Chey Tae-won meets with President of Estonia

Discusses economic cooperation with high-level Estonian and CARICOM officials

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won held a series of meetings with senior government officials from Estonia and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to discuss ways to cooperate on economic and industrial issues. 

 

According to SK Group on Oct. 15, Chey held a luncheon with Estonian President Alar Karis and senior government officials at the SK Building in Seoul. The two sides agreed to promote cooperation in areas such as information and communication technology (ICT) and green energy. 

 

 

Related to this, SK Square signed a memorandum of understanding on ICT investment cooperation with the Estonian Enterprise Agency on the same day. SK Square plans to invest in innovative companies in the ICT, environment, and energy sectors through the Estonian sovereign wealth fund (SmartCap).


On Oct. 12, Chey held a dinner with government delegations from CARICOM countries such as Jamaica, Grenada, and Belize at the SK Building and discussed ways to cooperate in industries such as agriculture, ICT, and tourism. 

 

After meeting with government officials from Estonia and CARICOM countries, Chey traveled to Paris, France. He attended a three-day CEO seminar in Paris starting on Oct. 16. At the seminar, Chey discussed global strategies for core businesses with SK's top management team.
