The Egyptian Embassy in South Korea hosted an event at the Army Club in Yongsan-gu, Seoul to commemorate the Egyptian National Day.

On this occasion, a number of foreign ambassadors and journalists from different countries, including Park Yong-min, the Deputy Minister for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the event to extend their congratulations.

Egyptian Ambassador to South Korea, Khaled Abdel Rahman, expressed his honor to celebrate the Egyptian National Day with distinguished guests.

The following is the congratulatory message from the Egyptian Ambassador:

Mr. Park Yongmin, Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea,

Excellencies,

Dear esteemed guests and fellow citizens of Egypt and friends from Korea,

It is an honor to celebrate the Egyptian National Day alongside our dear friends in Korea. On behalf of the Egyptian Government, I extend my warmest greetings and gratitude for joining us in commemorating this special occasion of the 71st anniversary of the 23rd of July revolution.

As we celebrate our rich cultural heritage and achievements throughout our history, we also recognize the importance of international cooperation in building strong, resilient communities. Our two nations share a long history of collaboration and friendship, exemplified by our shared commitment to economic growth, trade, and innovation.

In recent years, we have worked together to strengthen our partnership in various fields, including education, science, and technology. We remain determined to expand our cooperation, broaden our horizons, and advance our mutual interests. Through joint ventures, investments, and knowledge exchange, we are leveraging our respective strengths to create opportunities for our people. Our shared vision of a prosperous future is fueled by our unwavering commitment to building synergies and leveraging each other's resources.

As for Egyptian-Korean economic and development relations, I would like to mention that Egypt and Korea have recently witnessed an unparalleled level of collaboration, particularly in the area of development cooperation and execution of infrastructure projects.

Along with cooperation in the transportation sector, the two nations are cooperating actively in other fields, such as the defence sector, including their joint manufacturing of K9 howitzer artillery vehicles, in addition to building two multi-purpose MPC14K ships.

Korea is also cooperating on constructing Egypt's first Al- Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant through Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Co. Ltd. (KHNP). Based on this cooperation, KHNP will build facilities and supply materials for the plant.

According to a report released by the Cairo office of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency earlier this year, Egypt’s exports to Korea recorded an increase of 161 percent in 2022 year-on-year, reaching an all-time high of $1.69 billion.

In closing and on this special day, we pay tribute to the enduring spirit of our Nation, and to our steadfast partnership with South Korea. We renew our commitment to nurturing this friendship through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation.

Thank you very much.

Following this, Deputy Minister Park Yong-min delivered a congratulatory message for Egypt's Independence Day.
