8th Korea-Iran Director-General-Level Policy Consultation held in Tehran

Exchanged views on substantive cooperation on the international stage

Jeong Kwang-yong, Director-General for African and Middle Eastern Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held the 8th Korea-Iran Director-General-Level Policy Consultation with Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Director-General for Asia and the Pacific Affairs at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Tehran on November 30, local time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

 

Both sides recognized the holding of the 8th Consultation, held just six months after the 7th, as a testament to the efforts of both foreign ministries to sustain friendly relations.

 

 

They exchanged views on substantive cooperation in areas such as administration, culture, and education, cooperation on the international stage, and the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the Middle East.

 

Director Jeong noted that high-level exchanges between the two countries have continued this year, following last year, and suggested exploring ways to leverage this momentum to enhance cooperation in feasible areas.

 

Meanwhile, following the aforementioned policy consultation, Director Jeong paid a courtesy call on Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi to discuss all pending issues between the two countries and requested the Iranian Foreign Ministry's interest and cooperation in the safety and convenience of our citizens in Iran.
