The multi-day visit of South Korean opera singer Lee Yeon-Seong to Belarus, organized by the Belarusian side, came to a close on July 14, 2025.
For the first time in the history of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianskiy Bazaar in Vitebsk”, a performer from the Republic of Korea took the stage.

At the Summer Amphitheater, Lee Yeon-Seong, together with young Belarusian talent Ivan Maltsev, performed a traditional song “The Golden Ray of Sunlight” (lyrics by Y. Entin, music by G. Gladkov), receiving warm applause from the audience.
The South Korean guest’s program in Belarus was rich and diverse. Lee Yeon-Seong visited the Ilya Repin Museum, as well as the Sennitsa Children’s Home, where Ivan Maltsev lives and studies.
He conducted a masterclass as part of the Opera and Theatre Lab of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) and took part in the Closing ceremony of the “Slavianskiy Bazaar”.

Over the course of four days, the South Korean opera singer immersed himself in Belarusian culture and traditions, shared his own professional experience, and spoke about the development of musical and theatrical arts in Korea.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea expresses its sincere appreciation to the Korean side – represented by opera singer Lee Yeon-Seong and the Ballet & Model theatrical organization as well as to the organizing committee of the “Slavianskiy Bazaar in Vitebsk” – for the meaningful contribution to strengthening the cultural partnership between Belarus and the Republic of Korea.
