Nowon-gu, Seoul held an event for foreign ambassadors at Surakhyu Natural Recreation Forest on July 15, the district office announced.

The event was attended by 12 foreign ambassadors from countries that participated in Nowon-gu's craft beer festival and coffee festival, as well as Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok and National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik.

A Nowon-gu official explained, “The event was organized to provide external dignitaries with an opportunity to experience the facilities ahead of the official opening and to widely publicize the values and significance that public facilities should pursue.”

Oh Seung-rok, the district mayor, explained the background and purpose of the creation of Surakhyu to the foreign ambassadors who have been in continuous communication through events such as the Nowon District Beer Festival and Coffee Festival.

Mayor Oh said, “Ahead of the official opening of Seoul's first natural recreation forest, ‘Surakhyu,’ we invited external guests to inform them in advance about Nowon District's rest infrastructure and the value of Surakhyu. We hope that this space will become a place where people can truly feel the meaning and value of rest.”
