Gyeongsangnam-do Province Governor Park Wan-soo, who met with Mongolian Ambassador to Korea Sukhee Sukhbold on May 16, said, “I look forward to further expanding cultural and economic exchanges between Gyeongnam and Mongolia.”

The meeting took place during Ambassador Sukhbold's visit to Changwon. Mongolia is the host country of MAMF, Asia's largest multicultural festival, which will be held in Changwon from October 24 to 26.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Mongolia and the 20th anniversary of the MAMF festival, and the Mongolian National Performing Arts Ensemble will present high-quality performances throughout the festival.

“I sincerely congratulate Mongolia on being selected as the host country for the 20th anniversary of MAMF, and I hope that the festival will serve as an opportunity for the Korean people to renew their awareness of Mongolia and strengthen ties between Mongolia and Korea,” said Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-soo.

“It is a great honor for Mongolia to be selected as the host country of the 20th MAMF Festival on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Korea,” said Ambassador Sukhbold. ”We look forward to sharing Mongolia's traditional culture with Gyeongnam through the festival.”

“In addition to cultural exchanges, we also hope to further expand economic cooperation between companies,” he added, emphasizing that the MAMF festival will significantly expand cultural and economic exchanges between Gyeongnam and Mongolia.
