The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) released their 10 "small but strong potential" tourist attractions for this year on March 17. The list refers to relatively unknown destinations with high growth potential.

The seven debutants to the rankings this year are Gimpo Hamsang Park in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do Province; Rainbow Healing Tourist Site in Yeongdong-gun County, Chungcheongbuk-do Province; Myeoncheoneup Fortress in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do Province; Sani Garden in Haenam-gun County, Jeollanam-do Province; Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park in Sunchang-gun County, Jeollabuk-do Province; Otgol Village in Daegu; and Hoengseonghosugil Trail's five sections in Hoengseong-gun County, Gangwon-do Province.

Returning to the list from last year are Dadaepo Beach Park in Busan; Mujinjeong Pavilion in Haman-gun County, Gyeongsangnam-do Province; and Seongan Olle on Jeju Island.

The KTO plans to highlight the specific regional content of each site to attract foreign visitors.

The KTO contributes to national economic development and public welfare through tourism promotion, tourism resource development, tourism industry-related R&D, and projects for nurturing and training tourism professionals.
