Mayor Yoo Jung-bok of the Incheon Metropolitan City received the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov at Incheon City Hall on Feb. 24.
The meeting was held at the request of the Uzbek ambassador to Korea and was organized to discuss exchange and cooperation between Incheon and Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, Mayor Yoo said, “Incheon is strengthening various international cooperation to become a global top 10 city.” “We need cooperation in various fields such as economy, logistics, and culture between Incheon, which has the world's best airport and Incheon Port, and Uzbekistan, which is a transportation hub in Central Asia and rich in natural resources.”
In response, Uzbek Ambassador to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov said, “We look forward to full-scale exchange and cooperation with Incheon, an international city, and hope that cooperation between the two cities will become more active.”
Meanwhile, Incheon signed a friendship city agreement with Fergana, Uzbekistan, in December 2022, and has maintained continuous cooperation by inviting and treating a total of 18 children through the Asian Exchange City Medical Support Project from 2013 to 2024.
