The meaning of Sehwa Exhibition
Sewhwa is a traditional folk painting that has been passed down since the Joseon Dynasty, and is meant to ward off bad luck in the home and wish for good fortune in the new year. This exhibition aims to bring the value of traditional Sehwa into the modern era and globalize Korean traditional art.
The 2025 (The Year of Snake) Sehwa Special Exhibition will showcase the harmony between traditional Korean culture and contemporary art, providing visitors with a meaningful experience to mark the beginning of the year. Please join us in the first week of the new year at Insadong Museum of Korean Art on a journey to bring in good fortune!
