The Department of Global Culinary Arts at Woosong University recently held the Alma Chef Competition. The event, which was held in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Korea and the Italian Trade Corporation in Korea, is part of the World Italian Food Week.
Woosong University and Alma Culinary School signed a joint curriculum agreement in June and have been conducting active educational exchanges through local training and internships.
The Department of Global Culinary Arts at Woosong University collaborated with ALMA, a leading Italian culinary school, to organize the ALMA Chef Cooking Competition.
Twenty-one students from the Department of Global Culinary Arts participated in the competition, which was held in the format of cooking and explaining the lemon risotto selected by ALMA Culinary School.
Jang Yoon-jung, head of the Department of Global Culinary Arts, said, “I hope that this competition provided students with a deeper understanding of Italian cuisine. In order to foster global chefs, we plan to provide various support for students, such as joint education with Alma Culinary School, local training and internships, and guest lectures by star chefs.”
The Department of Global Culinary Arts at Woosong University is a representative global department of Woosong University with a high proportion of international students and foreign exchange students, as it conducts cooking practice and theory classes in English with the goal of fostering global culinary talent in Asia.
The department conducts various programs such as Korean language competitions, global cooking competitions, and field experiences, and creates a high-quality educational environment for students to grow into global culinary talents through educational cooperation with world-renowned culinary universities.
