Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Satkaliyev meets with his Korean counterpart Ahn

Discusses expanding cooperation with Korean partners in the energy sector

Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev visited the Republic of Korea on Oct. 22~25.

 

The Kazakhstan's minister of energy held a series of meetings with representatives of Korea’s leading energy companies and government agencies to discuss issues of energy cooperation. 

 

 

Discussions with the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy Ahn Duk-geun  focused on expanding partnerships in the energy sector, including the oil and gas industry, renewable energy projects, and more. The Korean side congratulated Kazakhstan on successfully conducting a referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant.

 

Additionally, the Minister held negotiations with executives of major Korean companies such as Doosan Enerbility, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC), and Samsung C&T. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy and Doosan Enerbility. 

 

Overall, the visit provided a fresh momentum to energy partnership and charted the new areas for cooperation.
