Prime Minister Han meets with Speaker Brahim Boughali of Algeria

Exchanged views on bilateral relations and economic issues

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo received the Speaker of the Algerian House of Representatives Brahim Boughali, who is on an official visit to Korea (Oct. 22-25) on Oct. 23, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, economic and development cooperation, and the regional situation.


Prime Minister Han welcomed the visit of the Algerian top official and praised the steady development of friendly relations with Algeria, a strategic partner.

 


Appreciating Algeria's efforts to create a business-friendly environment, including the enactment of a new investment law, Han expressed his hope that Korean companies will expand their presence in Algeria in various fields and called for active support from the Algerian side for Korean business activities.


Speaker Boughali expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with the Republic of Korea in various fields, including infrastructure construction and food security, and said that the Algerian parliament will actively work to realize the potential of cooperation between the two countries and take the strategic partnership to the next level.


Han asked for Algeria's unwavering support as a Security Council member against North Korea's destabilizing activities on the Korean Peninsula.


Prime Minister Han and Speaker Boughali expressed their concern over the spread of instability in the Middle East and agreed to work for stability and peace in the region.
