Belarus and Korea to strengthen cooperation in education

Amb. Andrew Chernetsky meets with Vice President of KNU Suh Chang-kyo

The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Korea paid a visit to Kyungpook National University (KNU), located in Daegu, on May 23, 2024.

 

During the trip, the Head of Belarusian foreign mission Andrew Chernetsky met with the Vice President of KNU, Suh Chang-kyo. 

 

 

In the course of the meeting the two parties exchanged copies of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Minsk State Linguistic University and Kyungpook National University, had a conversation about the further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of science and education, emphasizing the importance of organizing student and professorial exchanges.

 

During the visit, the Embassy organized a lecture for KNU students on the peculiarities of life and education in Belarus, as well as a session of answers to the most interesting questions. 

 

Thanks to the seminar, South Korean students have been able not only to learn more about Belarus, but also to listen to how the Belarusian language sounds using the example of Yanka Kupala's (one of the “fathers” of the modern Belarusian language) poem "Spadchyna" (Destiny).
