Foreign Minister Park meets with Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister

Discussed issues of Korean companies and winning projects in the energy and plant sectors

Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin met with Deputy Prime Minister of Construction and Industry Baymyrat Annamammedov of Turkmenistan at the opening site of Daewoo E&C's Ashgabat branch to discuss the difficulties faced by Korean companies in Turkmenistan and issues related to winning projects in the energy and plant sectors on Oct. 31.
 

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Annamammedov highly praised the achievements of Korean companies, including the construction of the Galkinish desulfurization facility and the Kiyanli gas and chemical plant, and looked forward to further cooperation between Korea and Turkmenistan in projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors. 

 

 

Minister Park requested active cooperation to facilitate the participation of more Korean companies in projects of interest to Korean companies, including the construction of fertilizer plants, natural gas liquefaction and desulfurization facilities.

 

As the first salesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Park pledged to support the entry of Korean companies into Turkmenistan and the strengthening of energy and infrastructure cooperation between Korea and Turkmenistan.

 

Park also explained South Korea's efforts to host the 2030 Busan World Expo, and outlined the country's bid for Turkmenistan.
