President Yoon holds a summit with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Seeks to enhance cooperation in economic and energy fields

President Yoon Suk-yeol, who is in New York for the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held a summit meeting with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić on the afternoon of September 18 for the first time since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1995.

 

During the meeting, President Yoon requested Bosnia and Herzegovina's support for the 2030 Busan World Expo and exchanged views on ways to develop bilateral relations.

 

 

President Yoon noted that bilateral trade between the two countries is not yet large, but it is growing rapidly, and he will work together to realize the potential of bilateral cooperation based on the recently signed Economic Cooperation Agreement*.

 

Komšić expressed his deep appreciation for the various development cooperation projects that the Republic of Korea has implemented with Bosnia and Herzegovina and for its support for the modernization of Bosnia and Herzegovina's customs administration through the ongoing Customs Risk Management Process Improvement Project. 

The two leaders expressed their desire to continue close consultations in the field of development cooperation. They used the meeting as an opportunity to further enhance bilateral exchanges and continue to identify cooperative projects that benefit both economies.
