President Yoon Suk-yeol holds an informal meeting with Slovak President Zuzana Caputová

To enhance substantive cooperation in defense, nuclear power, and supply chain sectors

Diplomacy Journal, Reporter Kim Lee | President Yoon Suk-yeol held an informal meeting with Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová on July 12, coinciding with his attendance at the NATO Summit, to discuss bilateral relations and measures for strengthening substantive cooperation.

 

 

President Yoon acknowledged the close and significant development of bilateral relations, especially with over 130 Korean companies expanding into Slovakia, leading to deepened economic cooperation between the two countries. He requested President Čaputová's interest and support for the smooth activities of our companies operating in Slovakia.

 

In response, President Čaputová expressed her hope that Korean companies would actively invest, particularly in the field of electric vehicle batteries, and pledged her interest and support for stable business activities of Korean companies.

 

President Yoon proposed close collaboration in defense, military industry, and nuclear power sectors to establish a stable supply chain while enhancing cooperation between the two countries. President Čaputová expressed her agreement and expressed her hope for swift progress in defense cooperation between Korea and Slovakia.

 

Meanwhile, President Yoon requested the support of the Slovak government for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo, which he believes will serve as a solution platform for global challenges.
