Diplomacy Journal shJung 기자 | President Lee Jae-myung will hold a New Year's press conference for 2026 at the Blue House Guest House on the morning of the 21st, with 160 domestic and foreign reporters in attendance, according to the Blue House's Senior Secretary for Public Relations and Communications.

This will be his first official press conference since moving from the Presidential Office in Yongsan to the Blue House, and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes.
The slogan for the New Year's press conference is "A Great Transformation Achieved Together, A Great Leap Forward for All."

President Lee Jae-myung will designate 2026 as the first year of the Great Leap Forward and will elaborate on his national policy plan for this transformation.

Furthermore, the Q&A session with reporters will be conducted freely, with the President and the moderator nominating key participants, without prior coordination or "prearranged dialogue."
 

The Q&A session will be divided into three areas: livelihood and economy, foreign affairs, security, and national defense, and society and culture.

Two young YouTubers specializing in the economy and culture sectors will participate in the question-and-answer session via video invitation.

The Blue House explained that the "key visual" of this press conference symbolizes the "light of a great transformation" that will foster active communication with the public.
