Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with Singapore Ambassador to South Korea Eric Teo, who is about to leave his post, and expressed his gratitude for his contributions to exchanges between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore on June 19.

The two also confirmed their commitment to further developing the cooperative relationship between South Korea and Singapore, as well as between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore.

Governor Kim said to Ambassador Teo at the provincial office, “During your tenure as Singapore's ambassador to South Korea, you have made tremendous contributions to the relationship between South Korea and Singapore, and you have been an excellent partner in the relationship between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore.”

He added, “Thanks to your help and cooperation, the relationship between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore has become very strong, and cooperation has deepened in all areas. Although you are leaving Korea, I hope you will visit us from time to time at your new post, and I look forward to your continued role in the relationship between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore, as well as between Korea and Singapore.”

Ambassador Eric Teo said, “During your term as governor, I believe that cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore has been greatly deepened and expanded not only in investment and trade relations but also in the fields of AI, innovation, startups, energy, eco-friendliness, and youth and educational exchanges, which you are particularly interested in. I would like to once again express my gratitude for the leadership you have shown.”

He added, “My wife is Korean, and my in-laws live in Namyangju, so it is safe to say that Gyeonggi Province is my second home. I will continue to support the relationship between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore, as well as the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore this year.”
