In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea Andrew Chernetsky pointed out the need to defend the historical truth about the crimes of Nazi Germany against the Belarusian population and the peoples of the former Soviet republics, to preserve the memory of the Great Victory and to suppress attempts to rewrite the history of the feat of the peoples of the USSR.

The memorial event, attended by heads of diplomatic missions of a number of CIS countries and friendly states, famous representatives of the South Korean public and the Belarusian diaspora, was accompanied by a screening of historical and documentary films produced by the national film studio Belarus film "Burned Villages" and "Death Camps", telling about the numerous atrocities of the fascist regime on the territory of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.

The event was supplemented by photo exhibitions "Belarus Undefeated" and "80 Years of Victory - Dedicated to the Great Feat", demonstrating numerous frames of military chronicles, post-war photographs of destroyed Belarus, as well as modern photographs of restored cities.
