Lee Yong-bae, CEO of Hyundai Rotem met with Ambassador of India to South Korea Amit Kumar at the Embassy of India in Seoul on April 16 to discuss possibility of cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation on rail vehicles, defense, smart logistics, automation solutions, and hydrogen energy infrastructure.

CEO Lee explained Hyundai Rotem's core business and its specialties such as eco-friendly technology development, product innovation, and timely delivery.
Hyundai Rotem entered the Indian market in 2001 with the Delhi Metro project and has maintained a high share of the local metro market since then.
The company has supplied electric vehicles to major cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, with cumulative orders exceeding KRW 2 trillion.
Recently, the company has also been active in the defense industry. Last year, it was reported that the company was seeking to participate in the Indian Future Ready Combat Vehicle (FRCV) project through its K2 tanks.
The Indian Army is seeking to introduce next-generation tanks to replace its aging military resources. The procurement of 1,700 tanks is reportedly worth KRW 20 trillion.
