Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok met with Thai Ambassador to South Korea Tanee Sangrat at the reception room of the provincial government office on March 17 to discuss cooperation between Jeollanam-do and Thailand in various fields including economy, culture, and tourism.
The meeting was held to further strengthen mutual cooperation between Thailand and Jeollanam-do and to expand exchanges and enhance mutual understanding between the two sides.

During the meeting, Kim expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the two Thai nationals who were killed in the recent Jeju Air tragedy, and thanked the ambassador for paying his respects in person at the joint memorial service at Muan International Airport in January.
“We attach great importance to exchanges with Thailand, a country rich in historical and cultural resources, and will continue to make efforts to further enhance cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges,” Kim said.
Governor Kim also suggested that efforts be made to grow together in the energy industry.
In response, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat said, “I will visit various organizations in Jeonnam Province to explore various ways of cooperation to further develop the friendly relations between the two countries.” “I look forward to continued exchanges and cooperation between Jeonnam Province and Thailand in various fields, including tourism and economic sectors, including steel, chemicals, energy, and space and high-tech industries.”
The province plans to further deepen its ties with Thailand through this meeting and further expand cultural and economic cooperation between the two sides in the future.
