S-OIL, led by CEO Anwar A. Al-Hejazi, donated 50 million won to the Korea Migrant Women's Rights Center to help migrant women in multicultural families on March 13, the company announced.

The Korea Migrant Women's Rights Center is a private, non-profit organization established in 2001 that provides counseling, education, and psychotherapy activities for migrant women living in Korea. It currently operates a shelter for migrant women and their children from multicultural families.

S-OIL's donation will be used to provide daily necessities for migrant women leaving the shelter to help them become self-reliant. It will also support a counseling worker who specializes in translating and interpreting for migrant women to help them with legal counseling and reintegration into society.

S-OIL started its sponsorship in 2013, when the human rights issues of multicultural families were not well recognized and supported by society. So far, the company has donated a total of 660 million won.

An S-OIL spokesman said, “We need to create an environment where multicultural families can live happily as part of the community. S-OIL will continue to be a strong supporter of our neighbors in need through our social contribution activities.”
