The Seoul Foreign Resident Center, established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and managed by the non-profit Migrant Center Friends, will join hands with the Embassy of Mongolia to strengthen support for Mongolians living in Seoul.

The Seoul Foreign Resident Center signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Embassy of Mongolia in Korea on March 10 to share information and hold educational and cultural events to support the stable stay of Mongolians in Korea and improve their quality of life.

Under the agreement, the center will expand its Mongolian language counseling service from twice a week to six times a week starting this month.

The center provides a variety of services for free to foreign residents in Seoul, including multilingual counseling, professional counseling such as labor and law, Korean language education, cultural experience programs, and support for community activities.

“We will strengthen customized support for Mongolians living in Seoul by life cycle and type of stay to help them adapt to life and improve their quality of life,” said Kim Dong-hoon, head of the Seoul Foreign Resident Center.

“This year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Mongolia and the 30th anniversary of the sister city of Seoul and Ulaanbaatar,” said Mongolian Ambassador to Korea Sukhbold Sukhee.

He said, ”We hope that this agreement will help many Mongolians solve their daily challenges.”

“We will do our best to make Seoul a foreigner-friendly city,” said Lee Hae-sun, Seoul's Global City Policy Officer.
