Acting President Choi holds luncheon with foreign ambassadors in Seoul

10 members of the diplomatic corps in Korea attend the event

Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok had luncheon with the ambassadors to Korea from major partner countries in the economic sector on Feb. 4.

 

During the meeting, he emphasized that under the acting presidency, the government is performing its duties in each area including the economy, diplomacy, and security without disruptions, in order to ensure the smooth operation of national governance.

 

 

He also reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining the current foreign policy direction and to continuing cooperative relations with major countries.

 

The luncheon was attended by 10 members of the diplomatic corps in Korea, including Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Korea Sami M. Alsadhan; Ambassador of Romania to Korea Cezar Armeanu; Ambassador of Peru to Korea Paul Duclos; Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Korea Ivan Jančárek; Ambassador of Australia to Korea Jeff Robinson; Ambassador of Slovakia to Korea Marek Repovský; Ambassador of Bulgaria to Korea Petar Kraichev; as well as the Chargé d'Affaires from the embassies of Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Poland in Korea.

 

Acting President Choi highlighted the outstanding competitiveness of Korean companies in promising export sectors including defense and nuclear power, and conveyed the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the large-scale projects currently underway.

 

He also requested their trust and support for Korea’s resilient democracy and robust economic system.

 

The ambassadors attending the luncheon expressed their unswerving support for Korea and reaffirmed their intention to maintain amicable and cooperative relations with the country, through various means, including high-level exchanges, going forward.
