(New Year Message)

Dear readers of the Diplomacy Journal,

As we approach the close of 2024, there is a profound sense of fulfillment that fills us all. It is with immense joy and gratitude that I take this opportunity, on behalf of the entire Embassy team, my family, and myself, to extend my heartfelt end-of-year and New Year’s greetings to the Government and the people of the Republic of Korea.

The year 2024 has been a year of remarkable achievements, rich in experiences and diverse learning, and marked by significant diplomatic strides. The relationship between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Korea has blossomed in ways that reflect the dedication and collaboration shared between our two nations. This positive trajectory is a testament to the Republic of Korea’s steadfast commitment to cooperation, the visionary leadership of its government, and the warmth and openness of its people.

It is noteworthy that the foreign policies of both our countries have aligned harmoniously, particularly in the areas of security, investment, and capacity-building. This synergy has enabled us to make tangible progress in achieving our shared development objectives, while also reinforcing the democratic values that unite us.

Throughout this year, we have witnessed the significance of several pivotal events and exchanges that have deepened our ties. Among the most momentous of these was the inaugural Korea-Africa Summit, an event that has opened new avenues for partnership. Our government is fully committed to capitalizing on the opportunities this summit has presented, working diligently to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are confident that the year will bring even greater milestones in our relationship, encompassing all aspects of mutual interest and benefit.

May the strong and enduring bonds between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Korea continue to grow, to the lasting benefit of our peoples.
