The UAE Embassy in Korea has announced the successful conclusion of a workshop to explore the potential for bilateral cooperation in the fields of AI and fintech.

The event was attended by government officials and industry experts from the UAE and South Korea to discuss the development of AI and fintech and reaffirm the importance of mutual cooperation.

The event kicked off with opening remarks from His Excellency Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to Korea, followed by congratulatory remarks from Song Ho-Joon, team leader of the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea.

The speakers emphasized that technology cooperation will play a key role in the economic and industrial growth of both countries, and agreed that closer collaboration in AI and fintech will further strengthen the bilateral relationship between South Korea and UAE.

Leading UAE organizations such as Abu Dhabi Global Markets (ADGM), Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) led each session, presenting the UAE's strategic vision for AI and fintech and how it can be leveraged in cross-border markets.

On the Korean side, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) introduced the current status and future direction of AI and fintech innovation in Korea.

In the final session, “Cross-Border Opportunities: Collaborating in the UAE Market,” participants discussed practical strategies for Korean companies to enter the UAE financial market.

The presenters provided concrete suggestions on how Korean companies can leverage the UAE's advanced AI infrastructure to enhance their competitiveness in the UAE.

The workshop highlighted the need for continued collaboration between the two countries in the field of AI and fintech, and participants believed that the insights and networking opportunities gained will help strengthen bilateral cooperation and create new business opportunities amidst the rapid changes in the technology landscape.
