The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI, President & CEO Martin Henkelmann) has published the 10th CSR Report of German Companies in Korea. This year’s CSR Report highlights a variety of CSR activities of German companies that actively engaged with and contributed to Korean society, the KGCCI said on Nov. 11.

Launched in 2014, KGCCI CSR Reports have covered a wide range of CSR initiatives and achievements of German companies in Korea, which contribute to its local community and environment protection. This year’s report introduces you to the CSR activities of the 11 German companies in Korea: Armacell Korea, BRITA Korea, Bayer Korea, Festo Korea, Henkel Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea Ltd., Merck Korea, RWE Renewables Korea, Porsche Korea, Siemens Korea, and TÜV SÜD Korea.

Over the past decades, German companies have become integral to Korea’s economy and society. Around 500 German companies in Korea have not only contributed to job creation by employing over 100,000 people in factories, offices, and research centers, but also carried out CSR initiatives that spans from scholarship programs, charity projects, and environmental conservation programs.

Dr. Martin Henkelmann, President and CEO of KGCCI, stated, “Marking a decade of commitment, the 10th edition of the CSR Report of German Companies in Korea highlights the meaningful contributions and lasting impact of German businesses in the Korean community. This milestone reflects not only the dedication to responsible business practices but also the strong, enduring partnership between our nations for a more sustainable future."

Last year, KGCCI has launched the “KGCCI Joint CSR Guide Walkers” initiative in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Korean-German diplomatic relations and showcased the collaborative spirit toward social responsibilities and inclusivity among KGCCI, its members, and partners.

Especially this year, the initiative saw an even larger participation, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and commitment from the community.
