TCG KINALIADA touring 20 countries, including South Korea

It is scheduled to visit Busan Port, South Korea from June 4 to 6

Diplomacy Journal  Lee Jon Young | TCG KINALIADA corvette, built as a state facility under Turkiye's national warship program MILGEM, will embark on an Asian tour from April 8 to August 19, 2024, visiting 20 countries to raise the profile of the Turkiye Navy, promote the national platform, and improve bilateral relations with the countries visited.

 

 

TCG KINALIADA's first port of call will be Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, followed by visits to Djibouti, Somalia, Maldives, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, South Korea, and Japan. After Japan, it will visit the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Jordan, where it will hold a memorial service at the Turkiye National Cemetery.

 

TCG KINALIADA is scheduled to visit Busan Port, South Korea from June 4 to 6, 2024. 

 

During the visit, a memorial ceremony will be held at the Turkiye Martyrs' Cemetery in Busan's United Nations Memorial Cemetery. It is the biggest symbol of Korean-Turkish friendship, 462 of the 900 soldiers lost in the Korean War are buried here. TCG KINALIADA will be open for public visitation during announced hours.

 

 

During her Asian tour, TCG KINALIADA will conduct exercises with the navies of the host nations, host a memorial service at the Turkiye National Cemetery in the host country, and support a coalition task force established to combat piracy at sea.

 

The fourth ship in the MILGEM project, TCG KINALIADA is 70% indigenously designed and equipped with indigenous weapons and systems. TCG KINALIADA is equipped with ATMACA, the first surface-to-surface missile produced by the Turkiye Defense Industry, and GENESIS ADVENT, the national battle management system.
