Namwon City, Jeollabuk-do, announced on Oct. 10 that the '2023 Namwon World Drone Festival' held at the Namwon Sports Center concluded a successful four-day schedule.
The 2023 Namwon World Drone Festival, which was held under the theme of 'A global world united by drones,' consisted of a drone leisure sports competition and a drone industry fair.
During the festival, experience programs such as flight simulators, drone piloting, and aeronautical rocket production, where visitors can meet and experience drones, received the greatest response, and drone sports such as drone racing, drone soccer, and the Drones War Challenge also gained popularity.
In addition, various programs were held through the S/W Future Filling Creation Festival and the Replus Experience Zone so that visitors who were not interested in drones could stop by the event and experience them.
In addition, busking performances and talk concerts were held in the middle of the event to encourage audience participation and create an atmosphere at the event.
In addition, the Namwon World Food Truck Festival, where visitors can meet international food, satisfied the taste buds of visitors and revitalized the local economy.
Through this event, Namwon City not only entertained many people, but also promoted Namwon as a drone city and created a venue to showcase the future of Namwon's drone industry.
The four-day festival concluded with a torch burning ceremony with the presentation of awards for each category of the 2023 Namwon World Drone Racing Competition.
Along with the closing ceremony, a congratulatory performance by singer Rain and a colorful fireworks show were held to celebrate the end of the event, delighting the eyes and ears of visitors.
Namwon City Mayor Choi Kyung-sik said, "With the successful completion of the 2023 Namwon World Drone Festival, Namwon City has taken another leap forward as a drone mecca city."
He added, "Under the banner of this festival, we will further foster the drone industry in Namwon City so that many people can come to Namwon. We look forward to your continued interest."
