President Yoon Suk-yeol and First Lady Kim Keon-hee paid a surprise visit to a multi-child family invitation event held at the fountain in the Yongsan Children's Garden on Aug. 26.

Children playing in the fountain gathered around the presidential couple to greet them as they arrived. Dressed in matching Cheonan naval patrol ship, the presidential couple took commemorative photos with each child, asking how old they were and whether they enjoyed playing in the water.

At the fountain, the children had fun playing games such as spinning hula hoops, imitating idol dances, and flipping color boards as the event's hosts led the children in games.

The President later stopped by the baseball field next to the fountain to cheer on the Jungang Eagle and Dogok Elementary School teams.

The fountain garden, where the event took place, was opened on Aug. 12 to provide a space for children, the future generation, to play freely in the city center in the heat of the day, and is large enough to accommodate all the children who visit Yongsan Children's Garden (18,000 pyeong, 60,000 square meters in total).

In particular, the water play area in the fountain garden is about 540 pyeong (1.8 thousand square meters), which is comparable to major fountain spaces in Seoul, and consists of various spaces such as a water playground, imagination playground, and a Jam Jam cafe.

In particular, for the safety of children, the entire fountain garden is covered with clean soil more than 50 centimeters thick, and grass is planted to thoroughly block contact with the existing soil, and the water quality is thoroughly managed through environmental monitoring.

A total of 68 families, including multi-child families, and 270 people (140 children) attended the event and had a great time playing group recreation games such as OX quiz.
