The Economic and Trade Delegation from Jining City, Shandong Province, China, visited Yeongju City for one night and two days from July 13 to 14, aiming to enhance friendly cooperation and promote industrial development exchanges.

Since the signing of the friendly exchange agreement in September 2010, Yeongju City and Jining City have continuously engaged in economic, educational, youth, cultural, and artistic exchanges.

Led by Lee Hwa-gwang, Deputy Director of Jining Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office, the Jining City delegation’ visit this time marks the resumption of friendly exchanges between the two cities after a four-year hiatus due to the spread of COVID-19 in 2019. It is expected that friendly exchanges between the two cities will resume in earnest from this visit.

On the first day of the visit, July 13, after a welcoming ceremony to enhance the friendly cooperation relationship between the two cities, there was a business forum on the economy and industry. 

Yeongju City Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented the city's industrial status, company support policies, and the National Industrial Complex Master Plan for Advanced Bearing, highlighting achievements and competitiveness.

On the second day, the delegation visited Bitrosys Co., Ltd., a biotechnology company utilizing ginseng cultivation roots, and the High-Tech Bearing Testing and Evaluation Center and Samho Engineering Co., Ltd., which play a crucial role in the bearing industry, to examine the industrial status of Yeongju City.

The city plans to actively promote business attraction activities and engage in multifaceted industrial exchanges for industrial development through this delegation visit.

Director Lee Hwa-gwang stated, "This visit to Yeongju City is a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the friendship between the two cities," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to facilitate diverse exchanges based on the excellent industries and resources that both cities possess."

Deputy Mayor Song Ho-jun of Yeongju City said, "This visit will be a meaningful time for Yeongju City and Jining City to share friendship and provide substantial assistance through exchanges in the industrial sector." He expressed hope that Yeongju City and Jining City will continue to develop a mutually beneficial relationship through various exchanges.

Meanwhile, Jining City, located in the northwestern part of Shandong Province, China, is a historical city with a 7,000-year civilization that gave birth to the five ancient Chinese sages, including Confucius and Mencius. It has a population of 8.34 million people and covers an area of 11,286 square kilometers.
