Both sides discuss pending issues, including regional and international situations

Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed various mutual interests, including South Korea-China relations, the Korean Peninsula issue and regional and international situations during the approximately 45-minute meeting

Both sides reaffirmed the consensus reached during the South Korea-China summit in November last year at the G20, aiming to continue developing their bilateral relations.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy and mature relationship based on mutual respect, mutual benefit, and common interests and agreed to make efforts toward that goal.

Both parties also recognized the significance of high-level exchanges, such as between leaders and foreign ministers. They decided to strengthen communication and exchanges at various levels, including diplomatic and security dialogues, vice-ministerial level strategic talks, vice-ministerial level exchanges promoting cultural ties, and 1.5-track dialogues.

Additionally, they agreed to actively cooperate in achieving tangible results in practical cooperation, such as stable supply chain management, expanding personnel exchanges and enhancing cultural content exchanges.

Minister Park Jin strongly condemned North Korea's long-range ballistic missile launch on July 12, stressing that North Korea's cessation of provocations and return to denuclearization talks is in the common interests of both South Korea and China, and that China's constructive role for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula is more critical than ever. Both sides expressed empathy for enhancing communication at various levels on the North Korean nuclear issue.

They also exchanged views on mutual interests in regional and international issues. Both sides agreed on the importance of cooperation among South Korea, China, and Japan for regional peace and prosperity, and they committed to making active efforts to revive the trilateral cooperation mechanism involving foreign ministers and summits. Furthermore, they pledged to maintain close communication on various global issues.
