President Yoon Suk-yeol received credentials from newly appointed ambassadors of 11 countries, including Denmark, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan, to South Korea on May 12.
President Yoon held a ceremony with 11 ambassadors at the presidential office in Yongsan, Seoul, later in the day. It is a procedure in which the head of state of the sending country hands over the credentials of a new ambassador to the head of state of the host country.
In attendance were Ambassador Atoki Ileka of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ambassador Amira A. Agarib of Sudan, Ambassador Sarah Angelina Solís Catañeda of Guatemala, Ambassador Songkane Luangmuninthone of Laos, Ambassador Tarash Papaskua of Georgia, Ambassador Carlos Peñafiel Soto of Mexico, Ambassador Dawn Elizabeth Bennett of New Zealand, Ambassador Paul Fernando Duclos Parodi of Peru, Ambassador Svend Olling of Denmark, Ambassador Saeed Koozechi of Iran, and Ambassador Tamara Ann Mawhinney of Canada.
Economic Minister Choi Sang-mok, Public Relations Minister Kim Eun-hye, National Security Office First Secretary Kim Tae -hyo, Spokesperson Lee Do-woon, and First Secretary of Foreign Affairs Jang Ho-jin were present.
